Leaders have to adopt an abiding intolerance for things that are misaligned, misguided and untrue. We need a committed refusal to be held hostage to a passive-aggressive, conflict avoidance mentality if we hope to drive sustainable high performance. It is just not smart for us to continue to ignore the big things we know are wrong, or broken, or that simply no longer work they way they should. It is illogical to dismiss the little inconveniences and pains that can become huge problems and major headaches, and not take steps to address them. It does not make sense to avoid doing what is right just because it might hurt or be inconvenient. It is not in our best interests to choose second best when we can do better.
