Transformational leader’s don’t believe in the constraining rationale of building stronger and higher fences in a futile effort to keep things under control. Instead, they believe in the benefits, merits and opportunities only found on the open range, where there are no fences, just miles and miles of endless rolling prairie. The transformational leader does not see himself as the chief organizer of tasks and processes, but rather as the chief disorganizer of mindsets and beliefs. The transformational leader sees himself as the “agitator in chief,” the purposeful but quirky deviant who demands fresh, new and different, not big, beige and boring.
