Short-changing the Future

Organizations have been short-changing their future for quite a while now, faking it, creating the illusion of being in control of a situation where complete control is just not possible. The more responsible and sensible thing to do would be to put the majority of effort, both physical and cerebral, into improving the strategic thinking process, not trying to lock down the perfect strategic plan. The strategic plan, at the end of the day, will only be as good as the thinking that goes into it anyway, so why not put the emphasis where it will have the greatest impact.
