Spider Strategy

Wednesday, August 03, 2005

I'm a big fan of spiders. No, I don't collect them, nor am I the raving Spider-man fan my son is, but there's something impressive about the whole web concept.. you know.. positioning, timing, patience...

Anyway, not to get all Mutual of Omaha on you, but there I was this morning, shaving.. and I felt something in my hair (eek....) ... so I brush whatever it is away with my hand... only to see a spider fall into the sink.

(Yes, this is where I actually start talking about business...)

Well, at that precise moment millions of years of instinct (aka strategy) kick in and the spider rolls itself up into a little ball.. to protect itself.. and I watch.. as it circles the drain for a few seconds.. and whoops down the drain it goes...

My point.. your strategy should evolve. If it got you this far, consider yourself lucky.. it might not prepare you for new, radically different attacks (or swats as it were..).
