Remembering what Woz..

Tuesday, February 28, 2006

Last week, I came across an article on globeandmail.com about Steve Wozniak's views on Apple's latest endeavours, including the iPod.

No, not Steve Jobs.. Steve Wozniak the co-founder of Apple, you know - the other Steve.

In the article, Wozniak is quoted as saying:

"We're a computer company, and we really think computers."

Considering that the iPod has rejuvinated Apple, as well as anchoring the organization in the minds of today's youth, you know.. tomorrow's customers... it only makes sense that they diversify their offerings.

Therefore, staying a computer company makes about as much sense as Nokia staying focused on paper products...

Times change, and it is the company which is willing to evolve that will ultimately survive..

The most interesting aspect of the article however is the fact that Mr. Wozniak was speaking to reporters at a four-on-four polo match, not on horses, but on Segway transpoters..

Evolution is a great thing...
